I did something similar with my book (re: epic twist). I was going to save it until book three or four, but I hadn’t even finished book one, and had absolutely no guarantee it would ever be published. So, I popped it into book one and it actually felt completely right anyway!
I’m glad you’ve rediscovered your passion for this space. I saw how focussing on numbers hurt my wife with her art career, and I’m always reminding myself to avoid such a trap. Yet, it’s such an easy trap to fall in to!

Oh believe me, I get it. I was a programmer for 15 years, and I looooove analytics and spreadsheets, but I’ve had to learn to ignore those inner urges for numbers when it comes to creativity. Well, I suppose it’s more about having a healthy balance. Everything in moderation, as they say.

I also come from a numbers background so I love numbers and tracking process, so it's a hard habit for me to resist
